Booking

Booking Conditions

To book and pay for a trip with Backcountry Snowcats, please use our secure on line booking form or call us at 1.604.894.7669 with your details. Guests must pay 25% of their total package cost upon initial booking, and the balance is due prior to November 1.

Trips booked after November 1, are payable in full at the time of the booking. Guests must read and agree to the terms and conditions of our waiver of liability, prior to the start of your adventure.

This is a very important legal document that requires you to assume responsibility, in writing, for risks associated with the backcountry activities we provide. Please read it carefully. If you are unable to agree to the terms and conditions and sign the waiver, you will not be able to participate in the trip.

Booking Policy for Minors

Each youth must have a guardian accompany them and the guardian will also be their ski partner at all times. Youth guests must have ability equal to the group. A valid drivers license is necessary to operate a snowmobile.

Cancellation Information

All cancellations must be received in writing. There are no exceptions to this policy, and we strongly suggest that all guests purchase travel insurance. Gift certificates or contra trips, once booked are subject to these conditions as well. All required deposits for 25% of trip value are non-refundable.

If full payment has been made and the canceling skier can find a replacement guest to fill the seat, then any funds we have received can be transferred to the replacement skier. If funds are refunded to the canceling skier and then charged to the new guest by Backcountry Snowcats, a $300 administration fee per seat will apply. If the guests transfer funds amongst themselves, there is no fee. If the seat cannot be filled, then you will forfeit all monies paid prior to the date of cancellation.

If you have paid for your spot in full and we fill your canceled seat at a reduced standby rate, you will be refunded only the amount paid by this last minute guest (less the cancellation fee). Monies on deposit will not be carried forward to future seasons.

Backcountry Snowcats recommends that you have trip cancellation insurance, medical insurance, helicopter evacuation insurance, personal insurance, and liability insurance. We recommend Lifestyle Financial who can provide such insurance. Our booking and Cancellation policies are consistent with other snowcat skiing operations in BC.

Special COVID-19 Conditions

If you must cancel due to a travel ban by government authorities pertaining to COVID-19, you will have the option to transfer the amount paid towards a trip next season. Snowcats reserves the right to cancel any trip without notice due to COVID-19 restrictions. Guests booked on canceled trips will have the option to put their funds towards a trip next season.

Refund Information

There is no guarantee on the conditions that you will encounter on your ski trip. We do not issue refunds or rain checks if we are unable to ski due to poor conditions, personal health, injury or any other personal reasons.

Our snowcat can operate in virtually any type of snow and weather. However, if we cannot operate our snowcat due to a mechanical breakdown we will provide a skiing credit on the unused portion of the ski package. This credit does not carry any cash value and is valid only until the end of the following ski season. Under no circumstances is Backcountry Snowcats responsible for guest’s inconvenience or travel expenses. We do have a backup snowcat in the event of a breakdown.

Weather and Snow Conditions

Backcountry Snowcats has good winter conditions well over 95% of the time. However, occasionally due to warm weather and/or rain the conditions will disappoint you. Please accept the fact that we have no control over the weather and we must operate even in poor snow conditions. We ski every day, even if the conditions are not terrific. If you are unlucky and encounter poor conditions while you are on your ski holiday, we will do our best to make your trip as enjoyable as possible.

Occasionally due to snow stability issues, we will have to avoid slopes that are considered too unstable to ski. Please accept that we have no control over snow stability and will put every effort into making the skiing as exciting and interesting as the stability will allow.

No refunds or rain checks will be given if the snow is poor or if we are unable to ski due to dangerous conditions.
